In this workshop, we'll piece throw-sized log cabin quilt tops from upcycled materials. Yes, you can piece a quilt top in a day! I'll provide everything: lots of fabrics, batting, thread, needles, sewing machines, safety pins, scissors, cutting mats, etc.). This class is for all levels—never used a sewing machine before? You'll learn! Never quilted before? This is a perfect first project! In the afternoon, I'll demonstrate how to assemble and quilt your quilt using several methods: hand quilting, machine quilting, and tying. I'll provide batting for everyone so you'll have everything you need to finish your quilt at home.

What to bring:
Everything on this list is optional! I will have everything you need in the studio, from sewing machines to safety pins. If you have any of these materials, feel free to bring them.

  • Sewing machine (any type)

  • Rubber cutting mat

  • Rotary cutter

  • Sharp scissors (any type)

  • Safety pins

  • Straight pins

  • Any fabric you'd like to include in your quilt! I recommend avoiding stretchy fabrics because they can be difficult to work with.
